Last week marked the beginning of our Premier League Inspires delivery for the new academic year. Between now and Christmas, staff will be working twice per week in four local secondary schools to deliver a range of skills-based workshops and practical football sessions to targeted groups of Year 8 & 9 students to help improve attendance, attitude and behaviour in school.
Using the power of football, Premier League Inspires aims to support young people aged 11-18 with their personal development as well as working to raise aspirations and improve outcomes in education. The programme is fully funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund and delivered in schools during curriculum time by dedicated staff from Club Doncaster Foundation.
Across the academic year, we plan to deliver a variety of group interventions in schools linked to key themes including attendance, attitude and behaviour as well as positive mental health, employability skills and violence against women and girls. Staff will also work with secondary schools to support in the delivery of collapsed curriculum provision as well as providing targeted one-to-one mentoring support to improve individual students outcomes in education.
