Month of movement participants complete combined total of over 2,000 workouts during July

31 July 2020

More than 70 participants took on the Foundation’s ‘Active July, a month of movement’ challenge, completing a combined total of over 2,000 workouts throughout the month.

The challenge was launched to encourage the members of our Home Goals community group to do one form of exercise each day during July, with participants being issued with their own ‘bingo card' to track their progress

Lauren Cuttell, health & wellbeing coordinator at the Foundation, said: “It’s been great to see so many people getting involved and trying new exercises during Active July, hopefully they’re feeling the benefits of having an active lifestyle.

“People have been engaging with each other in the group and have enjoyed sharing their experiences, it’s developed a real community feel and it’s good to see so many people playing a part in that.

“We’d encourage everyone to maintain the levels of activity beyond July, and to keep trying new forms of exercise.”

To help promote a varied exercise routine, Home Goals members were encouraged to try activities they may not have done before, such as meditation or yoga.

During the month, there were over 1,000 Facebook posts from Active July participants in the Home Goals group, with more than 300 active members engaging each day.
