Everyone at Club Doncaster Foundation was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of lifelong Rovers supporter Maureen Kirsopp.

Maureen had been unwell for some time but remained an ardent Doncaster Rovers fan, always talking about the team and checking results.

Her son, John Kirsopp, described Muareen as a 'wonderful mum and an extraordinary lady who will be missed greatly by all who met her'.

Writing on a Just Giving page in Maureen's name, John said: "My mum was a passionate Doncaster Rovers fan and had a season ticket for many years.

"She recently passed away and, as part of her legacy, wanted to help benefit the wider Doncaster community.

"The club Doncaster foundation is a charity which helps bring football to schools, sports clubs and other community hubs from all types of backgrounds and mum wanted others to understand how football can help people."

We would like to thank the family for the incredible generosity in setting up the Just Giving page with proceeds going to the Foundation.

Maureen will be missed by everyone who knew her and the thoughts of everyone across Club Doncaster are with Maureen’s friends and family at this sad time.
