Job Vacancy: community coach

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Foundation team as a community coach.


The Foundation are looking for a motivated individual to join the Foundation team in the role as community coach on a full time basis. Whilst this will vary in respect of the programme brief, the majority of the work for this role will be planning and delivering football, rugby, and multi-sport sessions within schools, and engagement sessions throughout the community.

The successful applicant will be representing Club Doncaster Foundation at every session they plan, deliver and review. We are looking for someone who delivers sessions with enthusiasm, inclusivity and innovation. Your day to day work will include coaching a wide variety of ages, abilities and children who vary in their interest for sport and physical activity. Following sessions, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining key links with all participants who come into contact with the department, from the participants themselves to parents and teachers.

The successful applicant will ideally have previous knowledge and experience of working within a sports or educational environment and have experience of planning sessions that will engage with all levels of participants. A good level of education, appropriate experience and qualifications in a level 2 sports coaching qualification is essential to this post. It would also be advantageous to have completed a further educational qualification such as AFPE.  

All applicants should be comfortable liaising with a wide variety of audiences and able to liaise with external and internal partners to ensure we can give our participants the best possible experience during their time with us.

Main duties will include:

  • Undertake the delivery of the curriculum and agreed coaching protocol for each partner , delivering sessions that meet and exceed national level 2 NGB status
  • Supporting the management team to plan, develop, and maintain an efficient schools and activity coaching programme
  • Completing appropriate internal monitoring systems and associated administration
  • Contributing to the delivery of specific projects under the departments remit
  • To work closely with partnership organisations, to maintain good relationships and collaborative working practices
  • To work with colleagues throughout Club Doncaster to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify and develop best practice
  • Dealing with enquiries and general day-to-day liaison with customers, colleagues and partners
