Foundation launches virtual sports week to help get children moving from home

08 June 2020

Club Doncaster Foundation have launched an online sports week to help get children moving, whether they’re at home or have started returning to classes.

‘Save Our Sports Week’ will see schools challenge each other by seeing how fair their pupils, staff and parents can walk, bike or run, as well as a host of other daily challenges and activities.

Starting on June 22, the Foundation will be releasing daily challenges and activities to give children the chance to enjoy sports day.

Each of the challenges will be completely different and won’t need any equipment other than things you can find around the home.

Kelly Jackson-Powell, sports development officer at the Foundation, said: “This is a great opportunity for children to compete against other children and to keep active.

“We wanted to make sure that the children didn't miss out on their annual sports day, and by running the ‘save our sports day’ campaign virtually, people will be able to take part regardless of whether they’re at home or are still going to school.”

The challenges will be split into two categories for KS1 and KS2, with daily prizes for the winner of each.

If your school want to register for the leaderboard and be in with a chance of winning prizes, please email Kelly.jackson-powell@clubdoncasterfoundation.co.uk

Activities will be released on our social media channels and will be accessible for children who haven't yet returned to the classroom.
