Foundation health & wellbeing coordinator Lauren Cuttell nominated for Business Heroes award

03 July 2020

Foundation health and wellbeing coordinator Lauren Cuttell has been nominated for a Doncaster Chamber’s Business Heroes award for her work to help support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lauren has been a key player in the launch of the Home Goals community group- a Facebook hub where Doncaster residents can find content such as exercise routines, cooking videos and interactive challenges.

When Covid-19 started to affect daily life, Lauren started to look at ways that the Foundation could continue to support the local community, even when they weren’t able to be there with them in person.

The weeks before lockdown were spent filming workout sessions, cooking tutorials and loaning out equipment to participants, including supporting the distribution of all bike hires to those that needed them.

Lauren, who has worked at the Foundation for five years, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be nominated for the Business Heros award.

“Throughout the pandemic we’ve had to find innovative ways that help us continue to support the Doncaster community while observing the distancing guidelines.

“We’ve launched the Home Goals community group which has built up over 650 members, they can enjoy the content that we post and safely communicate with each other to help alleviate any feelings of social isolation that may arise during the pandemic.”

Lauren also helped lead the recent launch of Active July, a month of movement, in which the Home Goals members are challenged to do one form of exercise each day throughout July.

John Davis, chief operating officer at the Foundation, said: "This is a great opportunity to shine a light on the work of Lauren who has adapted and innovated her approach to support our community.

"Together with Scott, the team have led on a number of interactive, digital ways to support people during this period and I'm really proud of how they've approached this crisis."
