Foundation delivers over 500 care packages as part of Tackling Loneliness Together Project

20 January 2021

Club Doncaster Foundation have delivered more than 500 care packages to Doncater residents since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic to help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.

The care packages are part of the EFL Trust’s tackling loneliness together project, which is designed to connect with older people who may be at risk of feeling lonely or isolated.

Packages are still available for people over the age of 60 with more details at the bottom of the story.

“We’ve been working to help support people who are experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation in our community”, explained Foundation Health and Wellbeing Officer Lauren Cuttell.

“Throughout 2020, we launched a series of initiatives to help connet with the people who need it most, and by the turn of the new year, we’d engaged with over 700 people across Doncaster.”

“That includes the delivery of over 500 care packages, making more than 2,000 phone calls and supporting people with online quizzes, exercises and face-to-face support when possible.”
