Fit Rovers participant makes generous donation to help support Foundation’s operations

01 September 2020

Fit Rovers participant Kenny Raggett has made a generous £260 donation to help support the Foundation during the pandemic.

Kenny, a graduate from the second Fit Rovers course, had planned to complete the 'three peaks challenge' with other Fit Rovers participants earlier this summer.

However, when it was cancelled in light of COVID-19, Kenny was keen to continue his fundraising efforts and donate to the Fit Rovers project, which helps improve the lives and support the people of Doncaster.

He said: “Fit Rovers isn't just about fitness, it’s about community and friendship, and I’m extremely proud to be part of this fantastic project that I hope continues for many years to come.

“Without the dedication and commitment of the staff and volunteers at Fit Rovers, the project would not be as successful as it is today, and that’s why I’m happy to help out where I can.”

Fit Rovers is Club Doncaster Foundation’s pioneering adult fitness course based at the Keepmoat Stadium, and is accessible free of charge.

A series of eight week fitness courses are conducted throughout the year offering sessions and advice to work towards a healthier lifestyle.

Emily Beahan, Head of Fundraising, said: "We are so grateful to Kenny for donating to The Foundation.

“This money will go straight back into the programmes that we run for people like Kenny in our community. Thank you!"
