A number of Foundation partner schools were on hand earlier this week to help Doncaster Rovers Football Club launch their new Rovers Rewards scheme, giving the city’s primary schools the chance to recognise pupils throughout the year.
Members of the first team dropped in at partner schools, Brooke Academy, Norton Juniors and Atlas Academy to take part in a Q+A session with participants. Meanwhile Joseph Olowu and Tyler Roberts helped out with a football based PE lession at Sunnyfields Primary before answering questions from keen football participants prior to their after school football session.
Rovers Rewards will see every primary school in Doncaster receive ten tickets for Rovers matches each six-week term to give out as prizes to deserving pupils.
This could be for achieving an outstanding result, good attendance, great behaviour or even just being a brilliant friend.
Club Doncaster marketing manager Mark Hughesman said: “Youngsters within our primary schools are our fans of the future and we are delighted to be able to offer them a chance to come and watch our stars in action as a reward for their achievements throughout the academic year.
“We felt that the reward should not just be for their academic results but also a reward for their personality, their kindness and exemplary attitude.
“We can’t wait to welcome the first of our young superstars to a game in the near future.”
Pupils at the Foundation partner schools each received free tickets for Rovers’ clash with Sutton United in October, plus for the Belles’ homecoming to the Eco-Power Stadium against Middlesbrough on October 8.
These will also be distributed to all primary school children across the borough over the coming days.
