Over 85 teddies were purchased for last Friday nights Doncaster Rovers fixture against Walsall, with more than 60 sat in the stands to watch the game with the crowd.
The teddy takeover gave people the opportunity to purchase a teddy for £10, with all money raised, being donated to The Foundation. Each teddy had its own ribbon and name tag, displaying a festive message and the name of the person who purchased them.
Claire Banks, Fundraising and Events manager for The Foundation, said, “We're really proud to support Hallam FM's Mission Christmas appeal.
“The Teddy Takeover has been so much fun, it’s been great to see them sat in the stands for the game. I’m pleased with how many bears have been purchased.
“I hope the bears bring as much joy in their new homes as they have brought to the stadium and supporters.”
All the teddies which have been purchased, have since been dropped off at the collection point, ready to be donated by Hallam FM’s Mission Christmas campaign, to give to children this festive season, putting a smile on those who need it the most.
Lee Fletcher, Cash for Kids Charity Fundraising Executive, at Hallam FM, said, “Our Mission Christmas toy appeal is now well underway with only several weeks remaining and this year is going to be a real struggle for a lot of families.
“We want to help as many disadvantaged children as possible, to wake up to a gift on Christmas Day. We could not do the work we do without the kindness and generosity of local businesses and the public.
“Thank you so much to the team at Club Doncaster for supporting our wonderful toy appeal this year, with their support we really can help make great things happen and help ensure no child goes without a gift this Christmas.”
