Who Dares Wins annual event another success as more Fit Rovers Ladies get involved in summer 2024

03 October 2024

Fit Rovers Ladies hosted their annual Who Dares Wins event at Kingswood Dearne Valley, this summer.

The 26 people involved ranged from participants on the ladies pilot course, all the way through to course 17, with a number of additional participants from the award winning Fit Rovers Families pre and post natal courses too.

All ladies were invited to a pre-event team building evening at Ten Pin Bowling at Lakeside, where they took part in a surprise reveal to find out whether they’d be representing Team Blue or Team Pink on the day.

Arriving at Kingswood on the Sunday morning, participants and staff got to grips with their surrounds and prepared themselves for what was to be a challenging day, filled with a variety of team building activities, with the hopes of taking home the trophy for their team.

After applying their team colours to their face and bandanas donned, both teams started off the day off with problem solving, putting their minds together to conquer a variety of mini challenges.

Both teams then helped guide their teammates to ascend the climbing wall, with a number of ladies facing their fear of heights.

Archery followed lunch, an activity many of the ladies in attendance hadn’t experienced before, but after a few practice goes, there were plenty of impressive scores collected for both teams.

The penultimate challenge saw the ladies raft building put to the test, creating a raft that would balance them on the lake, as they went head to head to collect as many balls from the water as they could.

A sports day style afternoon rounded off the day, with a variety of fun games in head to head challenges, all while being covered in colourful paint throughout.

After a deliberation between judges and the scores from the day added up, Team Blue were named as the 2024 Who Dares Win’s winners!

Diane Ingman, who competed with Team Blue, spoke of the day: “It was a fabulous and fun day full of women doing what they do best, supporting each other as we pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones.”

Jess Smith, who took part on the opposite team, said: “The Who Dares Wins event was the best day ever. Whether we were part of Team Pink or Team Blue, we all came together as Fit Rovers Ladies.

“We don’t always get to speak to everyone at sessions, but that day, we made new friends, spoke to other ladies and created memories that will keep us laughing for a lifetime.”

Maia Smith, who organises the event, spoke of how well the day had gone. “Our annual Who Dares Wins is one of the highlights of the year, not just for the ladies who get involved, but for our staff too.

“It brings together our fantastic participants, who this year, for the first time, have come from two of our projects. Both Fit Rovers Ladies and Fit Rovers Families!

“It was absolutely amazing to see so many ladies come together and help each other face their fears and work as one.

“It truly is one of the best days of the year.”
