Club Doncaster Sports College student, Ben Howe has been selected from the England Colleges development programme to be part of the squad to represent the North of England.
Ben trialled for the player development programme back in February and the team provides a pathway for players to be potentially selected for the England Academy.
Successful through the first phase, Ben will begin training with the squad at the end of May, with his first game for the team pencilled in for June 13.
Academy Coordinator at Club Doncaster Sports College, Tim Ryan commented:
“Since Ben joined the college and academy system, he has shown a great appetite to succeed as a player, is a great squad member and is always keen to promote rugby league. He has been conditioning himself to become the best and Dons’ CEO Carl Hall has allowed him to do this by training with the first team squad. The link between the College’s Academy and the Dons’ first team squad is excellent and it really bodes well for the future.”
CEO, Carl Hall added:
“This is a fantastic reward for Ben, who has done himself proud this season. He is a quality young man and a great ambassador for rugby league at Club Doncaster Sports College.”
