Club Doncaster Foundation will mark World Suicide Prevention Day with a series of activities at Club Doncaster Sports Village tomorrow.
World Suicide Prevention Day takes place annually on September 10, with this year's campaign continuing the theme of 'Changing the Narrative on Suicide', encouraging people to start conversations, challenge stigma and create spaces where people feel able to speak openly and seek support.
The day will provide an opportunity for Fit Rovers participants and Foundation Fitness gym members to come together, get active and, most importantly, connect with one another.
The Foundation will host two walks around the lake, alongside opportunities to enjoy a drink and spend time together at Foundation Fitness.
The schedule for the day is:
- 10am-11am: Walk around Lakeside
- 11am-12pm: Smoothie Bike in reception, with hot drinks available in Foundation Fitness
- 5pm-6pm: Evening walk around the lake
- 6pm-7pm: Hot drinks available in Foundation Fitness
The Foundation's Health & Wellbeing programme aims to improve the lives of people across the community, with sessions designed to support both physical and mental wellbeing.
World Suicide Prevention Day is a reminder that conversations can make a difference, and that checking in with someone, listening and helping people feel less alone can be an important first step.
