Rovers striker Fejiri Okenabirhie surprises students at Doncaster Primary School with virtual player appearance.

30 November 2020

Doncaster Rovers Striker Fejiri Okenabirhie surprised a group of students at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary when he made a virtual player appearance on Thursday, 19 November.

In line with Covid-19 regulations, player appearances have now been moved online, allowing pupils to speak to the players via a video link in their classroom.

Nick Gillott, Community Development Manager at the Foundation, said: “In testing times and with players having to work in their bubbles they are unable to visit schools as they usually would.

“However, as part of the Foundation’s new virtual visit initiative, players are still able to chat to the next generation of Rovers fans in their classrooms.

“We’d like to thank Fejiri for taking the time out to speak to the pupils, the class absolutely loved it.”

The virtual visit initiative has been a huge success in schools across Doncaster since it was piloted by Rovers captain Ben Whiteman and Belles Club Captain Sophie Scargill.
