EFL Utilita Kids Cup a huge success

The EFL Utilita Kids cup is growing year on year and in 2020 more teams took part in the Doncaster branch of the competition than before.

More than 350 children from across 44 schools headed to the Club Doncaster Academy pitches on Friday January 24 to take part in the all-day tournament. The tournament makes up part of a nationwide EFL Trust competition which will see two eventual winners play a final at Wembley Stadium.

All the matches were played in a competitive and sporting manner with all schools involved showing excellent team-work. There were also plenty of wonderful individual moments on show throughout the day from fantastic free kicks to super saves.

The tournament ended at the semi-final stages with Howden Juniors and Dunsville Primary both claiming a place in the final. The final will be played on February 8 on the main pitch at the Keepmoat Stadium ahead of Doncaster Rovers Sky Bet League One match vs Rochdale.
