Doncaster Rovers ambassadors helping shape community engagement for Club Doncaster Foundation

29 April 2025

On what has been an incredible season on the pitch, Doncaster Rovers have been performing off it too, supporting the Foundation & the numerous projects delivered within the local community.

Here at the Foundation, we’ve been thrilled to have ambassadors for a range of projects, with first team players and management actively supporting and promoting the charity does within the local area.

We’ve had players attend a variety of sessions within our partner schools, from reading to classes, joining in PE lessons, engaging with workshops and helping with the announcement of our annual Junior Takeover Day roles, along with regular visits to our Club Doncaster Sports College students, being involved in Premier League programmes on evenings out in the local area and attending a variety of activities as part of the EFL Week of Action.

The brand new Fit Rovers Dads programme, a new addition to the growing Fit Rovers co-hort has also seen support from recently named EFL League Two Community Player of the Year, Joseph Olowu, who attended one week in getting involved with the first aid activities with dads and children, as well as supporting our Rovers 4 All refugee programme at Christmas, creating support packages off his own back and giving back to the local community.

Foundation CEO, John Davis, spoke of the impact the squad has on Foundation projects: “Every year, we have such incredible support from the Rovers squad in helping support everything we do here at the Foundation and this season has been the same.

“The players and staff help support the work we do and help spread the word far and wide, within the community and beyond. We’re very lucky to have lots of players select to be ambassadors for our projects too.

“It’s fantastic for one of the team (Olowu) to be recognised at the EFL Awards for the support he gives to Doncaster and to the Foundation.

“The whole squad are great advocates for the club and we are extremely grateful to have worked with them on numerous projects and programmes that we deliver on a daily basis, something I know that those involved, value too.

“Thankyou to each and every player and staff member for the support this season and we’re looking forward to working with all staff and players in the new season.”

Our Foundation ambassadors for the 24/25 season were: Harry Clifton, Luke Molyneux, Joseph Olowu, Jay McGrath, Jamie Sterry, Richard Wood, James Maxwell and Bobby Faulkner.
