Complete Club Doncaster Foundation's 'Road 2 Paris' challenge this May!

18 April 2024

Club Doncaster Foundation are launching an exciting month long challenge and we want as many people involved as possible, to help raise vital funds for our projects.

This May, it’s walking month, and we have a new Olympic themed challenge for you to take part in. We want you to gather your family, friends and colleagues to join us in taking on the Road 2 Paris virtual challenge.

The challenge, completed in teams of 3-6 people, will involve covering a combined distance of 440 miles throughout the month, which is the distance from the Eco-Power Stadium to the Stade de France in Paris, where the olympics will be held.

How to complete it? Well that’s entirely up to you! You can walk, run, row or cycle the distance. For a team of 6 members, the distance works out at 2.3 miles per person, per day! Have you got what it takes?

Money raised from the event will go towards our Walk and Talk project, which plays a key role in improving health and wellbeing, reducing social isolation and supporting Dementia and Alzheimer’s across Doncaster.

The weekly session that takes place every Tuesday at the Eco-Power Stadium, from 12pm-2pm, sees participants come along to meet up with other participants, take a stroll around the lake before participating in games of bingo with a hot drink, as well as regular chair based exercises and the chance to socialise with others.

Registration for your team to participate in the Road 2 Paris challenge, is £12 per person. Within your registration fee, you will receive a Road 2 Paris t-shirt, 1 month gym membership and also cover the cost of a Walk and Talk session for one of our members to attend for the duration of the month.

To be in with the chance of winning one of the many prizes up for grabs, please be prepared to provide evidence of the physical activity you complete throughout the month (Strava/Apple Health/Android Health screenshots and photos are sufficient).

Phoebe Sneddon, Fundraising & Events Officer said: “We can’t wait for you to get involved in our olympic themed challenge this May. We have lots of programmes that are focused on getting Doncaster moving, and this challenge will hopefully support us in this work.

“Get involved, gather a group of friends, your family or your work colleagues to see if you can cover the distance from the Eco-Power Stadium to the Stade de France.

“Help us to continue our vital work within the community and support projects like our Walk and Talk sessions!”

So rally your team together and get signed up today!

You can register to participate here. Please ensure that each of your team members complete the form individually.
