Club Doncaster Foundation partner up with Doncaster Rovers Academy for fundraising event

13 May 2025

After a successful event last summer, Club Doncaster Foundation are partnering up once again with Doncaster Rovers Academy to take on the Pitch 2 Peak challenge later this month.

Members of the Foundation will join academy players, parents and staff as they look to complete the Castleton Circular Hike via Mam Tor in the Peak District on Thursday 29th May.

Last year the group raised just over £3k hiking up Pen-Y-Ghent, with the funds split 50/50 between both the charity and the U10’s & U11’s within the academy.

This year, the group are hoping to go bigger and better and raise even more money, with all age groups within the academy able to get involved this May.

Greg Carroll, Head of Player Care: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s Pitch 2 Peak challenge. Since I came into my role, I wanted to build better links between the academy and the Foundation and this challenge is the perfect example of that.

“We’ve got players from every age group in the academy taking part and we’re looking to raise a lot of money this year.

“It’s great to work in partnership with the Foundation and we’ve got some more really exciting plans for next season too.”

Phoebe Sneddon, Fundraising and Events Officer said: “We’re delighted that the academy want to partner up for this event for a second year.

“We’ve decided on a different location this year, to mix it up a bit and offer players, parents and staff a new challenge, following the success of last year.

“It’s great that the academy want to help support the work we do as a charitable organisation. They’ve taken a real interest into the work the Foundation does on a regular basis, with parents even getting involved in some of the projects we deliver throughout the week.

“It’s another way of us spreading the word within the community, on the vital work we do in supporting those across Doncaster and the money raised will help us to make even more impact on people’s lives within the city.”
