Club Doncaster Foundation are delighted to have named Youth work co-ordinator, Jamie Walman, as the charity’s Community Captain for the 2025/26 season.
Jamie has been recognised for his key role in supporting young people across Doncaster and his outstanding commitment to the Premier League Kicks programme.
This year’s Premier League More Than A Game campaign marks the 20th anniversary of Premier League Kicks, a nationwide initiative giving young people aged 10–18 access to high‑quality coaching and safe spaces to play.
To mark the campaign, each club have named their own Community Captain, recognising an individual who has positively impacted the programme and continues to inspire others and deserves recognition for their contribution to the game and society.
Each week, he ensures that participants at his sessions receive support and guidance alongside a safe and welcoming environment, across the local community, using the power of football to support personal development, engagement and positive life skills.
Alongside his delivery, Jamie has also played a significant part in the creation of the Premier League Kicks fanzine for the Foundation, which includes regular interviews with participants, information on current sessions around the city, fun competitions and a look at the programme as a whole.
Through his graphic design background, he also uses the opportunity to convert participants designs into t-shirts for a variety of events including the Premier League Kicks annual play on the pitch event, session attendances and residential trips.
Speaking of receiving the award, Jamie said: “As a Dad of two teenage boys, I regularly see the struggles and challenges they face as they approach adulthood. This has made me want to do something to help young people in high-need areas like the one I grew up in.
“To be able to offer unique opportunities to Doncaster's young people, to help develop and realise their potential, is a privilege.
“Working at Club Doncaster Foundation has been the most satisfying and rewarding 18 months of my working life.”
Jamie was recently presented with the award at a recent staff training session, infront of his peers.
