After the 24/25 season finished in May, staff, players and parents involved with Club Doncaster Academy have been continuing their hard work, in getting involved with the Pitch 2 Peak challenge, a challenge hosted between both Club Doncaster Foundation and the Academy.
An approach to bring both club and community together, the fundraising event sees the money raised, split 50/50 between both the Foundation and the Academy, aiming to provide support and vital funds for more people across Club Doncaster and the projects delivered on a weekly basis.
An incredible £4,984 was raised from the event, with an additional added donation following the event, making the total £5,004.
Those involved took part in the new challenge, completing the Castleton Circular Hike via Mam Tor in the Peak District.
John Davis, CEO of the Foundation said, “It’s fantastic to have both the Foundation and the Academy come together to complete a challenge like this.
“We want to help support the future participants of our programmes and also our current participants too, in creating opportunities and the continuation of projects we deliver in the local community.
“It’s great to see elements of Club Doncaster coming together through joint activities, supporting each other and helping support a variety of areas across the club and community.”
Greg Carroll, Head of Player Care for the Acadamy said, “It’s fantastic to partner with the Foundation once again.
“We’ve raised more money as part of this year’s event, compared to last year and this is something that we will continue to work with the Foundation on to ensure we can raise vital funds for both the Academy & the charity.
“It helps educate our players in the work that goes on within the local community, something that their parents, grandparents and family members may be able to get involved in.
“It’s gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years and we’re excited to continue this for next year too.”
