Choose Kindness join Heart of Doncaster Awards as headline sponsor

We are delighted to announce that the Choose Kindness movement will be our headline sponsor once again, for our annual Heart of Doncaster Awards.

Following on from last year’s awards, this year is set to be one fantastic evening again, where we will welcome friends of the Foundation, businesses and award nominees, for an evening to celebrate the fantastic people and partners we have from across the city, at the Eco-Power Stadium on 11th October.

Councillor Sue Farmer, Cabinet Member for Equalities, Education and Skills, said: “Choose Kindness is delighted to sponsor the Heart of Doncaster awards again this year which are a golden opportunity to recognise the people across Doncaster who make such a difference in their communities.

 “The awards support the values of the Choose Kindness movement which celebrates and champions the power of kindness and emphasises how we can all have a positive impact on each other’s lives whether that’s a small gesture of kindness or taking part in projects to support others and the environment.”

As part of the headline sponsorship, there will be an additional six awards on top of those already announced.

These are as follows:

• Choose Kindness Awards - To recognise kind acts made by an individual, business, local school or community group within each of the areas of Doncaster, and the impact that they have had on others our local communities and the environment. (North, South, East, Central, City Centre)
• Well Doncaster - Voluntary Community Faith and Enterprise (VCFE) of the year award - To recognise the outstanding contribution and hard work of a VCFE organisation in Doncaster, that goes over and above in supporting residents and reaching those communities that we could not reach alone.

Please note, award nominations must reflect the period of 1st September 2023-31st July 2024. 

All nominations will close on Friday 30th August 2024. Nominations received after the 30th August, will not be able to be considered. 

Speaking of the upcoming event, Fundraising & Event’s Officer, Phoebe Sneddon said: “I'm really looking forward to the Heart of Doncaster Awards 2024. 

“It's a fantastic evening celebrating and recognising incredible individuals in and around the City of Doncaster. Last year, we heard some incredible stories and celebrated the achievements of those deserving of the awards and we can’t wait to be able to do the same this year. 

“We’re delighted to have the Choose Kindness movement supporting on the evening, with the additional awards also.

“We’ve got a couple of new awards too, which we believe will showcase even more people from the local community, those unsung heroes who have an impact on numerous lives within Doncaster.
