Sports college duo heading to England Player Development Programme

Two students from Club Doncaster Sports College have been given the opportunity to be part of the England Colleges Player Development Programme.

In partnership with England Rugby League, England Colleges has been reformed and are hosting four sessions across the season that provide a pathway for players to be selected for the England Academy.

Adam Wilkinson and Ben Howe from Club Doncaster Sports College have been selected and will travel to Preston next Monday.

Doncaster Rugby League Chief Executive, Carl Hall said: “I would like to wish both the lads all the very best for this opportunity. This is a fantastic reward for all the hard work Doncaster Rugby League Academy and Club Doncaster Sports College do.

“Their work hasn’t gone unnoticed; Ben has been invited to train and be in and around the Dons first team. I would like to congratulate them on this achievement.”

College Principal, Adi Turnpenny added: “We are delighted both students have this opportunity to go to the England College Player Development Programme. It’s a great example of the college students benefiting from the college and the Dons Academy pathways.”
