Rovers star makes Summer Camps unforgettable
Doncaster Rovers winger Matty Blair spent his afternoon inspiring the next generation of footballers last week at Club Doncaster Foundation’s summer camps.
Keen to continue the coaching plan implemented throughout the courses, Matty talked tactics with the excited bunch before a kick-about and a mini Q&A.
The visit rounded off a hugely successful five weeks at the Keepmoat Stadium, which saw 86 children from across the borough experience a fun football development course.
Delighted with the results of the camps, coordinator Heather King commented: “the turn out each week was fantastic; come rain or shine the children were bursting with enthusiasm and because of this, it made the sessions delivered by our coaches look exceptional. We’re really pleased how successful the courses have been.”
She continued: “It’s always brilliant to have a player endorse what we do and this was no different. Matty is a class act, he really got into the spirit of the camps and it’s safe to say it was an unforgettable experience for the children.”
Delivered by UEFA B and Level 2 licenced coaches, the development courses hosted at the Keepmoat allowed children up to five weeks of fun and learning as well as the opportunity to have a personalised tour of the Keepmoat Stadium.
