Halfords and Club Doncaster Foundation aid Football to Amsterdam

Club Doncaster employee Nicola Moran will be taking on the Football to Amsterdam challenge in June and thanks to Halfords Doncaster will be making the journey on a brand new bike.

The store have kindly offered to loan the bike to show their support having developed a working relationship with Club Doncaster Foundation’s Cycle to Health team.

Having the best available equipment is vital for Nicola, who faces a massive 145-mile bike ride along with some of the biggest names in football.

Delighted with the loan, Nicola said: "It's great to be involved with the Yorkshire to Amsterdam bike ride and I'm happy to be raising funds for such a worthwhile cause.”

She continued: “The Club have been so supportive and Nick Gillot who runs the health programme at our Foundation has really got on board.”

“I'd like to thank him for supporting me and linking with Halfords at Doncaster. The donation of a loan bike has really helped my training and will no doubt ensure a smooth 145 miles to the finish line!"

Halfords are based over the Old North Bridge in Doncaster and sell a range of cycles for beginners to pros. They also offer bike services to ensure your bike is in full working order. Drop in and speak to one of their cycle experts today.

Nicola will now continue her training with colleague Andrew Whittham as they approach the end of a regime to prepare them for the journey.

Backed by the English Football League and League Managers Association, the nation-wide event will help raise vital funds for Prostate cancer.

Everyone at Doncaster Rovers are behind Nicola and her colleague, Andrew Whittham as they make the journey, including first team player Joe Wright and Cycle to Health Co-ordiantor, Scott Copeland who are both pictured above.
