Fit Rovers raise funds for November
The Fit Rovers team at Club Doncaster Foundation are proud to be coming together this month to raise money for the Movember Foundation.
Staff and participants on the programme are going the whole of November without shaving for donations that will go straight to the charity and help save the lives of men globally.
So far the men have raised over £500 for the fantastic cause and still have the majority of the month to well surpass that.
Fit Rovers project facilitator, Scott Copeland said: “As a project focusing on the health of men in Doncaster we wanted to play our part in supporting similar causes globally.”
“Throughout the month of November we asked our participants to grow a moustache to help raise awareness and funds for men’s health. Movember is a charity that focuses specifically on male specific health conditions such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and also mental health and suicide prevention. Since launching in 2003 they have funded 1200 projects that aim to save and improve the lives of men.”
He continued: “We set a modest fundraising goal of £500, which we smashed in the first week of November, we would like to thank our MoBro’s who have united with us on this quest.”
Fit Rovers is a free men’s health course at the Keepmoat Stadium that lasts 8 weeks. It combines tailored fitness sessions and health workshops to help men over the age of 30 lose weight and adapt a healthier lifestyle.
Unlike big fitness/weight-loss chains that charge you for public weigh-ins and give very little guidance, information at Fit Rovers is completely confidential meaning you can keep a track of exactly how you’re doing on a 1-to-1 basis with the staff.
